Vegan Hot Fudge Sauce

One of the best parts about eating ice cream is the toppings, right? There’s the candy, crushed cookies, gummies, and more, but the absolute BEST topping without a doubt has to be hot fudge.

That store-bought stuff might be one of those shocking vegan finds, but homemade is ALWAYS better (and definitely healthier). Here’s our recipe for every chocoholic’s dream Hot Fudge Sauce.

Ingredients

1 cup cocoa powder

1 cup organic sugar

1 cup coconut cream

1/2 cup vegan margarine, cubed

1 Tbsp pure vanilla extract

sea salt, to taste

In a medium saucepan off of the stove, combine the cocoa powder and organic sugar.

Method

Whisk in the coconut cream into the mixture then place it on the stove on medium heat.

Once the mixture is heated, start adding in the cubes of the vegan margarine gradually.

Stir to fully combine after each addition until all vegan margarine has been added.

Once the mixture has been fully combined, allow to heat until it begins to lightly boil.

Add the pure vanilla extract and sea salt.

Remove the mixture from the heat and allow to cool.

Notes + Serving Tips

Once the mixture has cooled either serve immediately or place in a jar to store.

A jar of Hot Fudge Sauce can be refrigerated for up to a week.

To reheat the sauce, place the desired amount in a microwave-safe bowl then heat gradually and stir until the sauce is hot.
