But First, Brunch

Throwing Down, Brunch Style

Dinner parties and cocktail parties are so passé, we’re all about the brunch party right now!

Brunch is one of the best mash-ups known to man… So why not enjoy all of the amazing things brunch has to offer, while hanging with your besties?

The most important thing to remember when hosting a brunch party is KEEP IT SIMPLE. Remember, you don’t have all day to prepare.

Our favorite way to keep it simple? “Make-your-own” stations. Guests will excite over the action and the chance to customize their meals, and once you’ve finished prepping all the basics you can sit back and let them do all the work.

If you’re still looking to impress your guests, try a few of our go to brunch items. We’re talking Raspberry Swirl Coffee Cake and Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls with Maple Glaze. Prepare these the night before, and serve them in addition to the “make-your-own” stations.

WAFFLE OR PANCAKE BAR

Leslie Knope said it most wisely in “Parks and Recreation”, “We have to remember what’s important in life: friends, waffles and work.” We definitely agree, so why not combine both waffles and friends with an epic make-your-own waffle bar?

Prepare a large stack of Waffles (or pancakes, if you don’t have a waffle iron) ahead of time, and keep hot by placing them in the oven on the lowest temperature.

Lay out an assortment of delicious toppings for your guests. We love strawberries with sugar and basil, warm maple syrup, maple butter (mix pure maple syrup and vegan margarine), chocolate chips, and Coconut Whipped Cream. For a healthier alternative, also include almond butter, Homemade Granola, berries, walnuts, and maybe even a Tofu Scramble.

Guests will love all of the amazing options, and you can get creative with different bowls and serving dishes to create a beautiful spread.

BLOODY MARY BAR

Every good brunch needs a delicious cocktail. And as far as we’re concerned the only brunch cocktail that matters is a Bloody Mary. Some people like theirs on the spicier side, some like to load on the garnishes, either way we’re pretty satisfied.

Give your guests the keys for success by preparing the most amazing Bloody Mary bar. All you need to do is prep the tomato juice base, get together all of the fixings, and watch as amazing concoctions emerge.

For a delicious tomato juice base, mix a large can of tomato juice, 3 Tablespoons of horseradish, 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, a dash of celery salt and a dash of garlic salt to taste. Season with fresh ground pepper and hot sauce to taste, or leave the spice mixing to your guests.

Our favorite mix-ins and toppings to have on hand? Create a good base with a selection of hot sauces, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, pickle juice, and horseradish. Then be sure to have all of the best garnishes. We’re talking olives, pickles, celery, asparagus, jalapeños, peppers, pearl onions, cucumbers, pickled beets, lemon and lime.

Cap it off with some delicious salt rim mixes by combining equal parts salt with your spice of choosing. We like celery salt, paprika and lemon pepper.

Oh yeah, and you’ll be needing some vodka!
