April Playlist

There is so much happening this Spring, and we’re pretty jazzed about the tracks we’ve put together for you! Lots of new bands are springing up like wildflowers, tons of our favorite bands are releasing brand new albums, and for our festival-goers, keep an eye on the blog for a very special edition of our playlist just for you!

Dial up your speakers! Let’s dive right into the APRIL by CHLOE. playlist!

“The Greatest”

KING - This trio put in work at SXSW, playing all the parties they could. Returning with their second album, KING isn’t defined by any one genre, and that’s why we’re hooked. Plus, they’re releasing music independently! Hail to the KING!

“Something About You”

Lucius - Lucius is twinning. Lucius is never not twinning. Lucius is back with their new album, “Good Grief,” and the matchy-matchy, harmonizing heads fronting the band — Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig — are more in sync than ever before. Swoooooon.

“Silly Me”

Yeasayer - Silly us for thinking Yeasayer forgot about their loyal fans! “Silly Me” is just a saccharine head-bop track, and from what we can tell, the band’s next release won’t disappoint.

“Lips”

Oyster Kids - This LA-based duo has gained a lot of early buzz for their Cali-spun tracks. “Lips” is a real hip-shaker…at least for us!

“HandClap”

Fitz and the Tantrums - Have you ever seen Fitz and the Tantrums live? It’s SO DAMN FUN. Come to think of it, this might be the track that could finally get us pedaling in a SoulCycle class. For now, we’re just clapping our hands.

“The Heart of Me”

Miike Snow - Miike Snow might have a frosty sounding name, but his new album is warming us up with his signature sound just in time for spring. One of those smart artists that knows what works and sticks to it!

“Hallelujah California”

Luna Shadows - HEY, WEST COAST! by CHLOE. is coming to CALIFORNIA! Let’s hang out 😉

“Baby”

Anna of the North - Norwegian-bred Anna of the North puts out dreamy tracks with syrupy backbeats and vocals reaching into the spheres. We can’t wait for more!

“Fantasy Boys”

BRONCHO - This indie rock outfit from Norman, Oklahoma has us head over heels with their 80s-esque reverb. Who doesn’t want to make out on the hood of car while this plays on a boombox? No? Just us?

“Charm Offensive”

Islands - Lead singer Nick Thorburn has achieved cult status recently for penning the soundtrack to Serial…yes, THAT Serial, but he’s back to his roots with a new release with his band Islands.

“Doing It To Death”

The Kills - Our official Girl Crush of the Month award goes to Alison Mosshart. You’re welcome, squad.

“Wednesday Night Melody”

Bleached - For those of us CHLOE kids kicking around in the 90s, Bleached perfectly replicates that female-forward garage rock sound we all got hooked on, thanks to the California-based sister act recording live whenever they can. If you know what we’re talking about, consider this track a return to the good old days. If not, consider it an education.

“PCH”

Tokyo Police Club - Okay, so we’re more than a little excited about bringing CHLOE. out west. This playlist is dripping in California tracks and artists! While Tokyo Police Club hail from way up north (hey, Canada), their new album pays homage to the Golden State’s sunny stretch of highway.

“Ophelia”

The Lumineers - The band that got everyone into the folk scene is back. “Ophelia” is the sound we’ve come to love from The Lumineers, from feet stomping to tambourines, with an extra dash of some tickled ivory keys.

“Cut”

Tender - London’s Tender has cut themselves a spot on our playlist. Definitely a duo to watch!

“Oracle”

HÆLOS - April had us feeling pretty upbeat, but our killer cool down track this month is from HÆLOS. Let it take you into meditation, or outer space…whichever you prefer.

BONUS TRACK: “Crystalline”

Mhairi - A song so new it’s not even on Spotify yet! Our April bonus track by Mhairi conjures up hazed out, witchy melodies with lyrics that press into your eardrums long after the music ends.
