NO. 2

Previously, we brought you Coffee Alternatives (NO. 1), to give some healthy coffee alternatives for those who are looking for something a little different to drink.

Today, we’re back with more jitter-free coffee alternatives, and one of them even contains coffee. *GASP*

MUSHROOMS

Mushroom coffee sounds more like something psychedelic than balanced, but it’s our new favorite discovery.

Four Sigmatic offers several mushroom coffee mixes that combine the wake up power of coffee with the balanced energy and immunity boost of mushrooms.

Cordyceps Mushrooms helps avoid the jitters from the coffee, while Chaga Mushrooms support immunity and remove the acidity of the coffee.

That leaves a smooth tasting, energy boosting, immunity enhancing, antioxidant-rich drink without the jitters and stomach ache from normal coffee.

SMOOTHIES

When we think of energy boosting drinks, we don’t often think of smoothies. But smoothies can be an excellent source of balanced, lasting energy in the morning.

The key to an energy boosting smoothie is the balance of ingredients. Be sure to include some form of protein in the form of healthy nuts, natural sugars from fruits, healthy fats such as coconut oil, and antioxidants such as berries.

Check out our recipe for an Energy Boosting Smoothie Bowl.

*Bonus, blend in some matcha from our friend’s at Panatea for an extra kick!

PEPPERMINT

The quickest way to wake yourself up? Smelling salts… pass!

But in case you’re like most of the population and want something a little less intense, it turns out peppermint stimulates the same part of the brain. We love that a healthy caffeine-free herbal peppermint tea can simultaneously wake you up, freshen your breath and soothe your stomach.

GINSENG

This weird-shaped root has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine to stimulate the senses. It’s a fatigue-fighter found in countless energy drinks and supplements, but it’s even better for you in its natural state, steeped in hot water. You can even buy in powdered form to make a quick easy drink.
